McLaren team principal Andrea Stella says he is happy with the adjustments agreed upon by the FIA, F1, and the teams this week regarding the regulations and the cars’ driving behavior. Furthermore, the Italian believes that further action should be taken in the long term.

While a colleague like Toto Wolff still advocated not to immediately change all rules with a sledgehammer, Stella is somewhat more ‘fanatical’ in the matter. “It’s positive that changes are coming now, it’s a step in the right direction. And as an F1 community, let’s be open to changes, let’s learn from the results,” he said on Wednesday at a press conference in Woking.

Stella continued: “This way we can be open to fine-tuning things. And also for even bigger changes in the future. I hope we are all open to that and also willing to learn.”
