Andrea Kimi Antonelli gladly takes advice from Max Verstappen. Although the Dutchman stated in Madrid that the young championship leader no longer needs it, the Mercedes driver is always open to the advice of the four-time world champion. Kimi Antonelli also talks about how Verstappen is off the track: “If you really get to know him, you realize that he is also a great person.”

Andrea Kimi Antonelli was accompanied on the podium in Spain by, among others, Max Verstappen. The two were therefore also together in the press conference after the race, where the Dutchman was asked if he had any advice for the younger driver. “Kimi just has to keep doing what he’s doing now,” was basically the only thing Verstappen could still tell the successful Mercedes driver.

Verstappen thus seemed to imply that Kimi Antonelli no longer needs any advice in the title fight. Something the young championship leader does not entirely agree with. “I always like to take advice from Max,” the Mercedes driver tells the Italian automoto. “You always need it.”
‘Max is also a great person’
But that Verstappen compliments his younger F1 colleague like this is nice for Kimi Antonelli to hear. “Max is a great guy, and it’s nice to see that he thinks so highly of me,” he says. “In Monza, he came up to me after the race to congratulate me, just like Lando. This kind of behavior shows what kind of champion Max is, both on and off the track.”
“Despite his achievements and his status, he is an exceptional person,” Kim Antonelli continues his praise for the Dutch world champion. “Not everyone sees this side of him, although many have come to do so in recent years. If you really get to know him, you realize that he is also a great person, not just a great driver.”
