Liam Lawson is allowed to step into the Red Bull car of Isack Hadjar for the second time in a row. The French-Algerian driver has not yet fully recovered from his wrist injury in time for the Italian GP. As a result, Lawson gets another chance to prove himself in the RB22 alongside Max Verstappen. “Great to spend another weekend with the team,” says the New Zealander himself about his next race weekend at Red Bull.

Isack Hadjar had hoped before the Italian GP to recover in time for the race at Monza. The driver even brought the encouraging news to Red Bull that his wrist was healing quickly. However, the race at Monza comes too soon for Max Verstappen’s teammate. Therefore, Liam Lawson is allowed to step into the RB22 for the second weekend in a row.
‘Great to spend another weekend at Red Bull’
“It’s good to hear that Isack is recovering well and will be back in the car soon, but it’s great to spend another weekend with the team,” Lawson responds in the official press release. According to the New Zealander, he starts the weekend in Monza more confidently with the knowledge gained from the Dutch GP. “Zandvoort gave me a very useful first impression of the car, and now that I’ve completed a full sprint weekend, I’m going to Monza with a much better understanding of the car and what I need from it.”

Still, the Temple of Speed remains a challenge, Lawson expects. “It’s a completely different circuit and there will be new challenges, but I look forward to building on last weekend with the team and seeing what we can achieve.” Yuki Tsunoda, in turn, steps in again at Racing Bulls, replacing Lawson.
