Lando Norris has won the very last Dutch GP at Zandvoort! The Brit crosses the finish line first for the second time, after suffering a painful retirement on the same dune circuit a year ago. Norris secured his victory with one overtaking move on Andrea Kimi Antonelli, as he himself says: “I had one chance and grabbed it with both hands.”

“Beautiful!”, shouts Lando Norris after crossing the finish line. “Well done, well executed, great strategy.” The Brit’s euphoria continues during the interviews after the race. “Great,” is the first thing the McLaren driver says. “It was a tough race. Yesterday I said: ‘We want to put on a good show for the fans present.’ I also made it difficult for myself. But in the end, it was one of my stronger wins. The pace was good though. And great to win the last race at Zandvoort.”
Norris’s victory was only briefly in danger when Andrea Kimi Antonelli took the race lead at the restart. The McLaren driver, however, overtook the championship leader again. “That was a good move,” he says proudly. “I knew I wouldn’t get many chances, and that was the moment. That move ultimately won me the race. I saw how Lewis was defending and then I knew it was now or never. I had one chance, and I grabbed it with both hands.”

Comeback from Norris?
With his victory, Norris now has two wins in a row. Is the McLaren driver already dreaming of a comeback like Max Verstappen a year ago? “I know it sounds boring, but I take it race by race. We still have a lot to learn and improve. I’m happy I could help my team to two wins, but I want to do that with a bigger margin from now on. So we keep working hard.”
