The very last Grand Prix at Zandvoort is about to begin. After an eventful Saturday – with a disappointing sprint but optimism after qualifying – Lewis Hamilton starts the final Dutch GP in fifth. However, the seven-time world champion hopes to close the gap to the top four on the circuit in the dunes.
“We started fifth, and there are a few very fast cars ahead of us,” Hamilton begins his analysis to the media in Zandvoort. “But as a team, we will do our best to see if we can close the gap. If we can gain some positions, that would be great. And of course, this is a circuit where overtaking is difficult, but we have shown earlier this weekend that we have a good pace.”

‘Thanks to Zandvoort’
The Ferrari driver concluded with a small word of thanks to the Dutch fans and Zandvoort for their support over the years. “Thanks to Zandvoort for welcoming us every year,” said the seven-time world champion. “It has been a great time here. I know this is the last race here, but you (the fans, ed.) really show up every year, so I want to acknowledge that.”
