Kimi Antonelli takes pole position for the Miami Grand Prix. For the young Italian, this means the third time he gets to start from the first spot this season. The Mercedes driver was faster than Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. “I got a bit too excited in the last lap,” said Antonelli.

Kimi Antonelli sets the fastest time during qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix. He was faster than the field and put Max Verstappen nearly two tenths behind. “It’s great to be on pole again. The day started tough with the sprint race, which didn’t really go our way, but I’m super happy with the improvement. I got a bit too excited in the last lap of Q3, but luckily the first lap was enough,” Antonelli says in the paddock.

About qualifying, the Mercedes driver says: “I was waiting for everyone to finish, that was quite stressful. In the end, I’m happy with this result. Hopefully the start tomorrow goes better and I don’t lose any positions.”
