The FIA has issued an official weather warning for the remainder of the Miami Grand Prix weekend. The paddock has been abuzz all week with the forecasted thunderstorms during the race on Sunday. According to the regulations, the governing body must issue an official rain warning now that there is a more than forty percent chance of rain during the Grand Prix.

Official warning
“In accordance with article B1.5.11 of the FIA Formula 1 regulations, a rain warning is issued,” the statement reads. “This happens after receiving a weather forecast from the official weather service, predicting that the chance of precipitation at any time during the race is greater than forty percent.” According to multiple sources, the FIA will still speak with the teams today about the possibility of running the race earlier in the day. Currently, the race is scheduled for 22:00 Dutch time on Sunday.
