Kimi Antonelli continues winning streak in Miami: ‘This is just the beginning’

Kimi Antonelli won the Miami GP on Sunday! After a five-week spring break, the young Italian continued his winning streak during a spectacular race in Florida. The forecasted thunderstorms did not materialize, but that did not make this first race on American soil any less exciting. “We still have a long way to go,” the World Championship leader said after the race, although he also visibly enjoyed this new victory.

“The start was already a bit better than yesterday,” the young driver began analytically. “I braked too late entering the first corner and was a bit lucky in the second corner. Later I made a small mistake with energy management, which allowed Norris to overtake me.” Nevertheless, Antonelli kept a cool head and ultimately crossed the finish line first – for the third time in a row. “The pace was great,” he beamed. “It certainly wasn’t easy, but we pulled it off again.”

With this new victory, Antonelli also breaks records: at 19 years old, he is the first F1 driver to claim his first three wins from pole position. “This is just the beginning,” he continued soberly. “We still have a long way to go, but the team is working incredibly hard – without them, I wouldn’t be here. I’m going to really enjoy this, but after that, it’s back to hard work. In two weeks, we’re already in Canada.”
