One driver after another was asked during the media session: how did they follow Verstappen’s race? “At home, I watched everything. I then fell asleep at 2 a.m. from exhaustion. But it was wonderful to follow,” said Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar.
George Russell also saw how Verstappen was driving on the Nordschleife. “I would like to do it someday too and of course I followed how Max did. He does what he enjoys, that’s great for him and he did well.”

And Pierre Gasly? “Respect for Max, I would also like to do that race and then compete against him. He was unlucky that it ended like that, but he did well and provided great highlights.”
Verstappen gratefully accepted the compliments. He had noticed how the colleagues empathized. “Many drivers sent me messages, they followed it. I thought that was cool, nice to see.”
