Because of the Monegasque’s mistake, Russell and Max Verstappen were ultimately able to overtake him in the last corners, causing him to finish sixth. “It was just a mistake. In the corner, I was still trying to push and stay close to Oscar, but I really struggled with the tires and then I lost the car. I couldn’t steer anymore in the corners and was trying to stay off the line,” said Leclerc.
