Max Verstappen is making his debut this year in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. After having already obtained the correct licenses and participated in the qualifying races last April, the Dutchman is fully ready for his first endurance race. The question remains under what weather conditions the world champion will race this weekend. The Nürburgring, located in the Eifel, is known for its unpredictable weather, where even all four seasons can pass in one hour. Even snowfall cannot be ruled out during the 24-hour race.
Weather forecast 24 Hours of Nürburgring
The variable conditions start already during the qualifying sessions on Thursday and Friday. Heavy showers will pass over the circuit and temperatures will only reach a maximum of 8 to 9 degrees Celsius. The preliminary forecast is that most showers will fall on Thursday, when Verstappen does not yet have to qualify. However, the team of the four-time world champion must complete at least two laps, when the chance of strong gusts of wind increases. On Friday, the Top Quali sessions take place – comparable to qualifying sessions in Formula 1. The wind will then be less present when Verstappen’s team fights for pole position.

On Saturday, the 24-hour race starts at 3:00 PM. The chance of dry weather is then much greater, although a single shower over the circuit cannot yet be ruled out. It will remain cold at the Nürburgring, again with temperatures around 9 degrees Celsius. During the afternoon, the chance of sunshine increases, and clear weather is also forecast for the night from Saturday to Sunday. It will therefore be cold on the circuit, around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. On Sunday morning it remains dry, and sunshine is even forecast later in the day. The race is expected to end under sunny conditions, with temperatures reaching 12 degrees Celsius.
