Tom Coronel: ‘Everyone moves aside for Max at the Nürburgring’

At the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, many different classes race around the track. “You think he takes too much risk, but if I did that I’d be hanging in a tree. He knows exactly where the limit is. I still find that very impressive,” says Bleekemolen.

“But there is also an advantage if you drive a Red Bull-Mercedes,” adds Tom Coronel. “Everyone knows when they see that car: ‘Shoot, there’s Max!’ With Jeroen they think: ‘Oh, there’s one of those BMWs’ and with me: ‘Oh, there’s an Audi.’ That’s different. Everyone thinks with that Red Bull car: I’ll just move aside, because he’s faster anyway.”
