Nyck de Vries secured a special victory in Formula E on Saturday in Monaco. For the first time since his return in 2023, the Dutchman triumphed again in the electric class. Moreover, it was the very first victory for his team Mahindra in five years.

De Vries stayed ahead of the New Zealand veteran Mitch Evans along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The Spaniard Josep Maria Marti finished third. De Vries’ victory was well deserved, as the Dutchman drove a flawless race. That could not be said of polesitter Dan Ticktum. He made a mistake in a crash with Antonio Felix da Costa. The Englishman ultimately received a 33-place penalty.

In the fight for the world title, Evans leads with 117 points, ahead of the German Pascal Wehrlein with 101. De Vries is eleventh with 30 points. On Sunday, there is still a second race scheduled in Monaco.
