Red Bull presents Robin Räikkönen as new addition to training

Red Bull has added Robin Räikkönen to the team’s youth academy. The eleven-year-old Finn is the son of former Formula 1 driver Kimi Räikkönen. Räikkönen Junior currently races karts in Italy in the Rotax Max Challenge Italia.

“We are super happy and honored that Robin has been chosen to continue his career as part of the Red Bull Junior Team,” says father Kimi. “Laurent (Mekies, ed.) and everyone within Red Bull have been very supportive during the discussions. They offered a convincing plan that will help Robin further develop his talent.”

“The Red Bull Junior team has had many successful years. It has produced big names like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. We are therefore very proud that Robin may join them and he will do everything to repay Red Bull’s trust in him.”

Mekies is also enthusiastic about the new collaboration. “Robin has already demonstrated his exceptional qualities several times in karting.
