Lewis Hamilton is not satisfied with the way of racing between him and Charles Leclerc during the Italian GP. The seven-time world champion is referring to the first lap, where Leclerc made his car wide and left Hamilton no choice but to partly drive into the gravel trap. According to the Brit, team principal Frédéric Vasseur needs to do something about this.

“Ultimately, the decisions lie with Fred (Vasseur, ed.),” Hamilton concludes ahead of the Spanish GP. “Despite that, I will just keep giving everything. All choices start at the top and then trickle down.”
“Last Saturday in Monza, I already indicated that we need to look at the way of communicating, because if we keep following the same path, we will also get the same results,” said the Brit. “We need to change things up, because right now we are not moving forward.”
No friends
According to former driver and analyst for F1TV Juan Pablo Montoya, there is no bond between Leclerc and Hamilton. The Colombian is critical and believes Ferrari will have to intervene to restore peace within the team.

“Not only Vasseur needs to do something, but also the people above. The drivers both need to go to Maranello this week and have a serious conversation. Charles says he treats Lewis like any other driver, but he is your teammate. You should have extra respect for a teammate.”
Despite the criticism, Montoya can empathize with the Monegasque. “In the past, I never looked at the bigger picture and it was always about myself. I probably would have done the same as Charles, but by now you have to realize that you drive for Ferrari, in Monza, and for a huge audience.”
