Pirelli boss Mario Isola is leaving the Italian tire supplier. Pirelli announced this themselves on Thursday. For the last ten years, the Italian was responsible for overseeing Pirelli’s exclusive tire agreement with Formula 1. Isola will be succeeded by Dario Marrafuschi.

Pirelli announced on the Thursday preceding the first race weekend of 2026 that boss Mario Isola is stepping down from his role at the Italian supplier. The Italian was responsible for the Formula 1 side within the Italian company. In this role, he oversaw the tire designs for the pinnacle of motorsport. He was also responsible for the supply of Formula 2 and Formula 3 tires.

Isola will be succeeded on March 1 by Dario Marrafuschi, the new Head of Motorsport Business within Pirelli. The Italian will remain employed at Pirelli until July 1, 2026, in order to hand over his duties to his successor as effectively as possible. “The company would like to thank Mario Isola for his dedication and great passion with which he has contributed to the growth of the Motorsport division over the years,” Pirelli writes in the official press release.
