Test and reserve driver Paul Aron will take over Pierre Gasly’s seat during the first free practice for the Italian GP. The Estonian driver will thus be in action for the fourth time this season on a Friday, after previously participating in practice sessions for both Audi and Alpine.

Aron has been a test and reserve driver for the Enstone team since January 2025. However, his first practice was in the same year for Kick Sauber during the British GP. This season, Aron has already driven three times in an official F1 session. In Barcelona and Austria, he drove for Audi, while in Hungary he raced for Alpine by taking over Franco Colapinto’s seat.
Busy days
“I am looking forward to driving for Alpine this weekend,” Aron responded in an official press release. “I am grateful for the opportunity I am given here and hope to build on the confidence I gained in Budapest. It will be a busy weekend for me, because after the session I will fly back to Enstone to continue working on the simulator, while on Saturday I will be back in Monza.”

Aron is not the only rookie to take a seat during a practice this weekend. Luke Browning will also be in action on Friday for the Williams team. The Brit takes over the seat from Alex Albon.
