Formula 1 and Netflix confirmed last Monday that there will be a ninth season of the popular Drive To Survive. The series will return in 2027 with new episodes, although the exact release date has not yet been announced. In recent years, the docuseries has helped significantly increase the sport’s popularity, especially in the United States.

The first season of Drive to Survive came to Netflix in 2019. Since then, the popularity of Formula 1 – partly thanks to the series – has only grown, especially among young people and in the United States. It’s no surprise that the premier class is eager to continue the collaboration with Netflix. The ninth season will cover the course of the 2026 Formula 1 season, as Netflix cameras are again present in the paddock this year.
Netflix collaboration expands
When the series will be available on Netflix exactly is still unknown. In recent years, the streaming service has always released a new season shortly before the start of the new Formula 1 year. The collaboration between Netflix and Formula 1 has only grown in recent years.
