Max Verstappen looks moderately satisfied with his first experience at Madring, the new F1 circuit in Madrid, where the Spanish GP will be held on Sunday. The four-time world champion from Red Bull ended the first practice day in the Spanish capital with the sixth fastest time. “It didn’t go badly,” he responded in an initial reaction.

Max Verstappen had earlier in the day, in FP1, recorded the fifth fastest time.
“We are still trying to find speed over one lap and better understand the tires during the long runs,” he said at the end of the first practice day in Madrid. “Lap after lap we are gaining more speed. There are always small things like the balance of the car that you want to work on during free practice to improve. We will continue with that tomorrow.”
