Verstappen looks back with satisfaction on his third place at Spa-Francorchamps, but emphasizes that the short Hungaroring requires a completely different approach. “Spa was a positive race for us,” Verstappen reflected in an official press release. “Everything went quite smoothly throughout the weekend and it was great to achieve our three hundredth podium finish with the team.” The four-time world champion qualified on the front row, but after a good start still had to concede to Kimi Antonelli and Charles Leclerc. After 44 laps, he crossed the finish line in third place.
Final stretch
“Hungary is the last race before the summer break, so it’s the final stretch,” he said about the upcoming race weekend. After the Hungarian GP, Formula 1 prepares for the summer recess, during which factories are also obliged to close their doors. “It’s a completely different circuit, with a completely different layout than Spa. We have to wait and see how everything comes together and make sure the car’s setup is right from the start,” said Verstappen.

“It makes a big difference how you start a weekend. Hopefully, we’ll be right there from the start so we can be as competitive as possible. It will be interesting to see how we perform there. We always get great support from the fans in Hungary, so we’re looking forward to being back.”
