The Racing Bulls team is doing well in Formula 1. Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad have finished in the points for four consecutive Grands Prix. During the last race at Spa-Francorchamps, only the latter finished in the top ten, but Lawson did not yet have the latest upgrade package from the Italian team. Therefore, the young, but now immensely popular driver duo is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Hungarian GP.

Racing Bulls’ new upgrade package – which will also be fitted to Lawson’s car next weekend – consists of a new engine cover, roll hoop, rear wing, and revised sidepods. Lindblad managed to qualify ahead of his teammate at Spa thanks to these new parts. During the race, both drivers clashed, although they both emerged from the duel unscathed. Ultimately, Lindblad scored two World Championship points with a ninth place, while Lawson crossed the finish line in twelfth.
Nevertheless, the New Zealander was optimistic about the development of the VCARB 03 and looked forward to driving with the new upgrades himself. “He (Lindblad, ed.) was very fast this weekend, so that’s very positive,” the 24-year-old responded to the media. “All the upgrades we’ve brought, everything the whole team has developed, seems to be working. So yes, we’re really looking forward to the Hungarian GP.” Racing Bulls is now level with Alpine, who occupy fifth place in the constructors’ championship.

Team delivers fantastic work
“I think I feel more comfortable and become more competitive every weekend,” Lindblad cheered after his fifth consecutive points finish. “The last time the car felt so complete was in Canada, but unfortunately, I couldn’t participate in the race then.” A gearbox problem in Montreal thwarted his plans even before the start. “I don’t know exactly what it is, but I can say that every time I get in the car, I feel a little better. The engineers and I get along very well; we really understand each other. Moreover, I really enjoy my time in Formula 1. The team is doing a fantastic job of continuously improving the car’s performance, and you can see that on the track.”
Incidentally, there was no disagreement between the Racing Bulls drivers, despite their heated battle in Belgium. After the race, both twenty-somethings flew home together. Not with a private jet, like many F1 drivers, but with a budget flight from easyJet. Lawson posted a selfie of the return flight on social media, which led to many positive reactions.
