Lewis Hamilton made a spectacular entrance at the Monza circuit on Thursday morning. The seven-time world champion stole the show in his classic Ferrari F40. Moreover, he wore a special outfit that closely resembled what he wore on his first day at the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello.

Hamilton arrived in his own F40, which has just been restored by Ferrari specialists. He said he is super happy with his recent purchase. “The F40 I drove to the circuit today is fantastic, a dream,” he said at the FIA press conference.
“I found this car with 69 kilometers on the clock,” he continued proudly. “Actually, it has always been kept in a garage. It was still very dusty. It is one of the most beautiful cars ever and I don’t think a Ferrari driver has ever arrived at Monza like this,” Hamilton beamed. “The engine even has the serial number ’44’. I couldn’t believe it; it really had to be this way.”

Special livery
Besides his special outfit, Hamilton is also wearing a special racing suit this weekend. Together with his teammate Charles Leclerc, they wear a special overall as a tribute to Ferrari icon Michael Schumacher. The SF-26 also gets a special livery as a tribute to the 1996 F310, the first Ferrari F1 car of the celebrated German driver. His seven stars, symbolizing his championships, are a recurring element on all team clothing.
