Lando Norris has reached a special milestone with his victory at the Dutch GP. The McLaren driver secured his thirteenth Grand Prix win in Zandvoort, putting him level with David Coulthard. The Scot, as he himself jokingly put it, was far from amused. In the ranking of most F1 wins for McLaren, Norris has now surpassed Coulthard.

Norris strengthened his title fight after the summer break with his second consecutive win. After his victory in Hungary and a second place in the sprint race at Zandvoort, the Brit also won the main race. This brought his total to thirteen wins, putting him level with David Coulthard and Alberto Ascari. With his next win, Norris can match the likes of Graham Hill, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Jack Brabham.
Coulthard was impressed by the way Norris took control of the race. “I think we saw exactly why I love Formula 1. We saw a driver who was one with his car, one with his team. And I don’t usually do this, but I think it’s important to remind our listeners: I predicted that Lando (Norris, ed.) would win,” he responded on the Up to Speed podcast.
David Coulthard: ‘I am so angry’
When Coulthard was confronted with the fact that Norris had equaled his record of thirteen wins, he couldn’t help but respond jokingly. “Oh my God, I am so angry! So angry! He is world champion and has thirteen wins, haha! No, he was great. He deserves it.” The McLaren driver himself was also very satisfied with his performance in Zandvoort, where he closed the last Dutch Grand Prix in style. “It was a tough race,” Norris said afterwards. “I told myself I had to put on a show for everyone for the last race here. I made it difficult for myself, but it was a good race, well fought. It was probably one of my best wins.”

In the ranking of drivers with the most wins, Norris and Coulthard are level, but on McLaren’s honor roll, the current world champion has already passed the Scot. - Ayrton Senna (35 wins)
- Alain Prost (30 wins)
- Lewis Hamilton (21 wins)
- Mika Häkkinen (20 wins)
- Lando Norris (13 wins)
- David Coulthard (12 wins)
