The Royal Air Force will be present again this Sunday during the Dutch GP at Zandvoort. Just before the start of the main race, a Chinook helicopter, several F-35 fighter jets, and a C-130 Hercules will fly over the circuit to salute the fans and the drivers. The so-called flyby by the Air Force also took place last year and is a regular part of the program at many other major Grands Prix.

For this final edition of the Dutch Grand Prix, the organization is going all out, so this spectacular action cannot be missed. In addition to the flyby, the Royal Air Force Orchestra will perform, in collaboration with various other artists. Dutch GP director Robert van Overdijk speaks of a ‘special’ collaboration with Defense. “It adds a unique element to the race,” he said.

During the Wilhelmus, performed by singer Davina Michelle, the Chinook helicopter will again carry a huge Dutch flag over the circuit. For Michelle, it is the second time she will perform the national anthem during the Dutch GP. “I will never forget the Wilhelmus in 2021,” she said earlier in a press release. “These kinds of stages rarely come along in your career. That I get to do this for a second time now, five years later at the final edition, is really fantastic. I can’t wait to be back on the grid.”
