F2 driver Dino Beganovic praises Max Verstappen's honesty: ‘People don't realize that’

Formula 2 driver Dino Beganovic is notably praising Max Verstappen. The young Swede explains that the four-time world champion does not always come across as likeable in the media, but in reality, he is one of the nicest drivers on the F1 grid. Beganovic – who, besides his appearances in Formula 2, has already driven several free practice sessions with Ferrari – emphasizes Verstappen’s genuine interest in the junior categories.

In a podcast by Viaplay, Beganovic was asked about his relationship with the drivers in Formula 1. “If I leave Gabriel Bortoleto and Oliver Bearman aside – because we are very good friends – then I would say Max Verstappen is one of the nicest,” he responded. “Many people don’t realize this because he can make a lot of jokes and doesn’t come across as super friendly in the media,” he explained. “Off the track, however, he is very genuine.”

“I have done a lot of simulator work with him (Verstappen, ed.),” Beganovic noted. “Then it feels like we have known each other for years; he asks a lot about Formula 2 and is always very interested in how I am doing.” The 22-year-old Ferrari protégé recalled a chance encounter with the Dutchman. “A few weeks ago, I visited Gabriel (Bortoleto, ed.) in Monaco. After I parked my car, I ran into Max. He was walking down the street with his little daughter but immediately asked a lot of questions. He was just so incredibly kind. I dare say he is one of the most humble F1 drivers.”
