Dutch driver Esmee Kosterman brings a one-time livery especially for her last home race in the F1 Academy at Zandvoort. The 21-year-old driver is competing for the first time this year in the junior category representing LEGO Racing. The livery is therefore inspired not only by her home country but also by her collaboration with the Danish toy manufacturer.

Where Max Verstappen chose a Delft blue helmet to mark his last home race at Zandvoort, Esmee Kosterman and the LEGO Group took a slightly different approach. The two chose a very different typical Dutch symbol: the tulip.
The flower is not only visible on the special livery of Kosterman’s F1 Academy car this weekend, but also on her racing suit and helmet – of course the LEGO version – featuring the Dutch symbol. She unveiled the tribute to the last Dutch GP on Thursday in the F1 Academy paddock. The livery was designed by a team led by Dutch LEGO designer Ashwin Visser.

‘No dream is too crazy’
“I can hardly describe how excited I am for the race at the Zandvoort circuit,” Kosterman herself says about her last home race weekend. “Last season I made my F1 Academy debut as a Wild Card driver and had the chance to race for my fellow countrymen, which was an incredibly special experience. The fact that I now have a full-time spot on the grid, supported by the LEGO Group, and race in a typically Dutch livery, helmet, and racing suit that I helped design, makes this year even more special. I hope to be a role model for young girls with ambition. No dream is too crazy, as long as you believe in yourself.”
