Dutch heroes of the Nürburgring! All Dutch participants in a row

The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is just around the corner! This year, extra attention is on the endurance classic due to the participation of four-time F1 champion Max Verstappen. In an extremely competitive field, the Dutchman also faces several compatriots, including multiple former winners of the notorious 24-hour race. We list all the Dutch drivers who will brave The Green Hell this coming weekend.

Max Verstappen competes with his own Verstappen Racing in the top SP9 class, in a Mercedes-AMG GT3. He is joined by Spaniard Daniel Juncadella, Frenchman Jules Gounon, and Austrian Lucas Auer. So no fellow countrymen there. However, elsewhere in the field, there are indeed Dutch drivers. On the longest entry list in over ten years – with no less than 161 teams participating this year – there are a total of 26 Dutch drivers.

All former winners

All Dutch drivers who have ever won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring are participating this weekend. Regular FORMULE1.nl columnist Jeroen Bleekemolen is competing, as well as Nicky Catsburg, Robin Frijns, and Duncan Huisman. A large part of the Dutch drivers – like Verstappen – compete in GT3 cars. Catsburg and Frijns have a Lamborghini and a BMW at their disposal, respectively.

Porsche veteran Loek Hartog is competing for two different teams; he drives twice in a 911 GT3. Tom Coronel is also listed twice; he drives two GT3s from Audi but competes in the AT1 class. He shares the car with start number #19 with former winner Duncan Huisman and Jan Jaap van Roon. Furthermore, Morris Schuring and Thierry Vermeulen do compete in the SP9 class, with a Porsche and a Ferrari respectively.
