After his victory in the British GP, Charles Leclerc had to settle for second place in Belgium. For a long time, the Ferrari driver had a chance at a second consecutive win, after he caught up with polesitter Kimi Antonelli at the start. Ultimately, he was not able to match the young Mercedes driver in his SF-26, who once again claimed the lead in the race. Despite this new podium finish, Leclerc still sees room for improvement.

“I believed until the end that we could win this race,” Leclerc laughed after the race. In the final phase of the race, he was still in Antonelli’s slipstream, but he failed to make a crucial overtaking move. “For five or six laps I struggled a bit with the front axle, but overall the feeling in the car has improved,” he assured contentedly. “That doesn’t mean there’s not still some work to be done.”
