Antonelli euphoric after second time in Australia: ‘Mechanics were the real heroes’

Kimi Antonelli reacted elatedly after his second time in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix, behind his Mercedes teammate George Russell. The young Italian experienced a day of extremes in Melbourne on Saturday, after his crash earlier in the final free practice. “A very stressful day,” Antonelli admitted with a laugh.

“The mechanics were the real heroes by repairing the car in time for qualifying. We didn’t even have time to adjust the set-up, but just went out. Antonelli after qualifying: “It wasn’t easy. I hope for a clean week without problems next time, because this wasn’t ideal. But I’m focusing on tomorrow’s race first. A good result is definitely possible.”
