After a strong race weekend in Monza, Alpine travels with a good feeling to Madrid for the Spanish Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly surprisingly took pole position in Italy, and he managed to convert that strong starting position into important points for the team. Despite a disappointing race, Franco Colapinto also secured a points finish.

For Gasly, the pole position in Monza is an important motivation for the upcoming races. “Saturday’s performance has given us all the motivation to bring ourselves closer to the front of the field more often in the future,” said the Frenchman. Alpine hopes to carry this good form into the new Madring circuit this weekend.
Colapinto is also enthusiastic about the new track in Madrid. According to the Argentine, the banking in turn 12 stands out especially. “The circuit looks quite unique and it will take some time to master it quickly,” says Colapinto. According to him, it will be important to quickly find a good rhythm.

Colapinto lived in Madrid
For Colapinto, the race also has a personal touch. The Alpine driver previously lived in Madrid and therefore knows the city well. “It will feel very special for me to race on this circuit,” he says.
The main task for the team is clear: find the right setup as quickly as possible and score points again. Gasly summarizes the goal clearly: “Our goal is to get up to speed as quickly as possible, optimize the car setup, and continue our streak of points finishes.”
