VIDEO: Red Bull pokes fun at exit rumors Max Verstappen: ‘That can't be true’

Max Verstappen announced the day before the first sessions at Zandvoort that he has signed a new contract with Red Bull. The Dutchman will remain loyal to the Austrian racing team until 2030. In recent months, there have been many rumors about a possible departure of Verstappen; due to the new regulations, he might have considered early retirement. In a playful video, he and Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies poke fun at all the speculation.

Verstappen has hinted several times recently that the new regulations could push him towards the exit. During the race weekend in Canada, there were mixed messages about this. “I can confirm that I will stay in Formula 1,” he stated ahead of the weekend. When it later became clear that the proposed FIA changes might be blocked by other teams, he hinted again at a possible departure. “If it stays as it is now… then we’ll see.”
