In 2026, the weekend follows the traditional F1 format, with two free practice sessions on Friday, the third free practice followed by qualifying on Saturday, and the race on Sunday. The Hungaroring has been continuously on the F1 calendar since 1986.

The circuit and associated facilities were significantly modernized for the 2025 Hungarian GP, after the organization signed a contract in 2023 that keeps the Grand Prix on the calendar for another ten years. The race is one of the country’s main tourist attractions, prompting the Hungarian government and organizers to invest heavily.
