While most drivers travel directly to the paddock at the Miami International Autodrome for the return of Formula 1 this weekend, McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri made a quick stop in Miami itself. There, the drivers participated in the McLaren showrun in the Regatta Harbour area of the American city.

This is not the first time McLaren has organized a large-scale event in the heart of a city. Last year, the British team held a two-day event in London ahead of the British Grand Prix. This year, the ‘experience for American fans’ lasts five days. The highlight of the event is the showrun, where some of the most iconic McLaren cars – including Ayrton Senna’s MP4/6 – take to the streets of Miami.
Norris and Piastri
Current drivers for the team, world champion Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, also stopped by and got into the race cars to treat the fans present to some race action. While Norris got to drive the MCL60 – the 2023 car – Piastri had the honor of taking the wheel of the MP4/23. Lewis Hamilton won his first world title in this car in 2008.
