VIDEO: Max Verstappen leaves NASCAR driver behind: ‘You beat me’

Max Verstappen has made trips to various racing classes in recent months, including the Super GT in Japan and the GT3 class at the Nürburgring. Last weekend, he also participated in his first 24-hour race at The Green Hell. During the race weekend in Miami, Verstappen also got the chance to experience NASCAR, albeit on the simulator. In a new video from Red Bull, the Dutchman dives under the fastest time of NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch.

Verstappen finishes and also struggles with the steering on his first attempt. “Do I have to go full throttle here?” he wonders, while he slams the car hard into the wall.

Still, Verstappen quickly gets the hang of the NASCAR car. After a lightning-fast first sector, Zilisch knows what time it is. “Ah, he completely beats me,” he laughs, visibly impressed. The Dutchman ultimately clocks a lap of 2:01.11, making him immediately faster than the pro. “You are the winner,” the American admits defeat. “You beat me.” Watch the full video below.
