Toto Wolff does not expect such a dominant Mercedes at the Spanish GP as in the last race. The Austrian says in his preview that the characteristics of a track like the Madring suit Mercedes less than the fast nature of the Monza circuit.

“Monza was one of the strongest results of the entire season and a huge result for everyone in Brixworth and Brackley. The team performed well and the drivers got the maximum out of it. We are satisfied, but our focus was immediately on Madrid after leaving Monza.”
“This weekend will be a completely different challenge,” said Wolff. “The circuit resembles Budapest or Zandvoort much more. Because of this, we expect a closer fight. We need to get through the circuit as quickly as possible and get the maximum out of it from the first session.”

Mercedes comfortably leads the constructors’ championship. The Silver Arrows have 468 points and are 122 points ahead of second place Ferrari. In the drivers’ standings, Kimi Antonelli dominates for Mercedes. The Italian won his home race and is 66 points ahead of teammate George Russell.
