Ross Brawn gets top position in MotoGP: Pramac Racing signs F1 legend

Ross Brawn returns in a prominent role within international motorsport. Following Günther Steiner, he also takes on a position in MotoGP. The Pramac Racing team has announced that the former team principal and Formula 1 top executive is joining the board of directors. Brawn will serve as a strategic advisor to team owner and director Paolo Campinoti, bringing his many years of experience from Formula 1 to MotoGP.

The Briton has an impressive track record in motorsport. In a career spanning more than forty years, Brawn contributed to no less than 22 world titles, divided over eleven constructor titles and eleven driver titles. After leaving Mercedes in 2013, he remained active within the Formula 1 organization, where he held a management position between 2017 and 2022. Pramac sees his arrival as an important step in the further professionalization of the team. “His appointment reflects a shared competitive ambition and an approach that aligns with Pramac Racing’s position in MotoGP,” reads an official statement. “This strengthens the company’s organizational structure, which is further developing in the top class of motorcycle racing.”

Ross Brawn looks forward to his new challenge in the MotoGP paddock. “I am delighted to join the board of directors of Pramac Racing,” he said. “Motorsport is always about people, teamwork, and continuous improvement. I look forward to supporting Paolo (Campinoti, ed.) and the team with my experience. Pramac has built an impressive organization, with a great spirit and ambition, and I am excited to be part of it in the future.”

Campinoti, in turn, responded enthusiastically to Brawn’s arrival. “I am very proud to welcome Ross to Pramac Racing,” he said. “Besides his extraordinary career and achievements in Formula 1, Ross is someone with whom I have shared a close friendship for many years. I am convinced that his vision, knowledge, and winning mentality will make a valuable contribution to the further growth and development of the team.”

Brawn is regarded within Formula 1 as one of the most successful and influential team principals and technical leaders of his generation. The Briton achieved great success at Benetton and Ferrari, where he worked with Michael Schumacher. Later, he made history again with his own Brawn GP team that won both world titles in 2009 with Jenson Button. After that, he was the foundation of the Mercedes team that eventually grew into the dominant force of the hybrid era.
