Richard Verschoor has driven in Formula 2 for the past five years, with the goal of reaching Formula 1. Unfortunately for the Dutchman, the latter has not yet succeeded, but with his addition to the McLaren driver development program last December, he is still making progress in the motorsport world. The British team wants to prepare Verschoor for a role in McLaren’s World Endurance Championship program, which starts in 2027.

Verschoor is making his first kilometers in endurance racing this year for the Duqueine Team in the European Le Mans Series, once again together with Pin and with Giorgio Roda. He will compete there in the LMP2 Pro-Am class. His Le Mans debut will again be in the LMP2 class for Duqueine Team.

Verstappen

The Dutchman Verschoor will thus make his debut at the iconic endurance race earlier than Max Verstappen. The world champion has already expressed his wish several times to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans one day. Verstappen is taking the first steps towards this moment this year: he is participating in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring on Saturday, May 16.
