Red Bull confirmed on Wednesday that Isack Hadjar will not participate in the upcoming Dutch GP at Zandvoort. The Frenchman suffered a wrist injury during the summer break and is therefore unable to race. Red Bull wishes Hadjar a ‘speedy recovery’ and is relying on Liam Lawson this weekend, who is temporarily coming over from Racing Bulls. Test and reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda will step in at the sister team.

“Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar suffered a wrist injury during the summer break, which means he cannot participate in the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix,” Red Bull wrote on social media Wednesday. “We welcome Liam Lawson, who will replace him this weekend in the RB22. The team wishes Isack a speedy recovery and thanks Liam for stepping in so quickly.” It is still unclear how and when Hadjar sustained the injury. Reportedly, it is a sports injury.
How long will Isack Hadjar be absent?
At Racing Bulls, test and reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda joins Arvid Lindblad. “We can confirm that Liam Lawson will drive for Red Bull this weekend during the Dutch GP due to Isack Hadjar’s wrist injury,” the Italian team added. “As a result of this driver change, reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda will drive for Racing Bulls this weekend in Zandvoort. We thank Liam and Yuki for their flexibility as we prepare for the weekend. We also wish Isack a speedy recovery.”

Because the severity of the injury is unknown, it is still difficult to say whether Lawson will only make one substitute appearance. Daniel Ricciardo and Lance Stroll have dealt with similar injuries in the past, with the Australian missing as many as five Grands Prix. It was known that Ricciardo had a wrist fracture, which he sustained after a crash at Zandvoort. Interestingly, it was also Liam Lawson who replaced him at the then AlphaTauri.
