Oliver Bearman has launched a remarkable new project alongside his Formula 1 career. The 21-year-old Haas driver, together with a group of friends, has opened a bike shop and café in the hills above Monaco, where he himself often rides his bike. The venture aligns with his growing passion for cycling, which has increasingly taken a prominent place in his training schedule recently.

During an appearance on the Beyond The Grid podcast, Bearman said he started the business with friends at a popular cycling spot. “I have a bike shop with a few friends,” he said proudly, “just above Monaco.” The mountain roads above the principality are well-known territory for cycling enthusiasts. Valtteri Bottas is often found there, as is Carlos Sainz. The latter has even trained there with his good friend and five-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar.

For Bearman, the project is mainly about sharing his love for cycling. “For all of us, it’s more of a passion project because we really love cycling. It’s nice to have some say in how the shop operates,” he explained. The shop – which subtly references motorsport with the name Triple Crown – is set up as a café, allowing passersby to easily make a ‘pit stop’ before tackling the surrounding climbs. Additionally, special bike rides are organized from Triple Crown.

“We bake our own banana bread, our own cakes; so yes, it’s really nice,” Bearman laughed. “Those are actually our main sources of income. Besides that, we focus on good coffee. I’m not much of a coffee drinker myself, but I know that’s very important for cyclists. They can be quite picky about coffee, I’ve learned that by now,” he grinned. “I especially enjoy the cakes, and I’m very proud of them.”
