Max Verstappen has left the frustration of the events in Silverstone behind him ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. The Dutchman said this on Thursday looking ahead to the race in Spa.

After his crash and the disappointment over Red Bull’s decisions that weekend, Verstappen quickly focused on the next race after the British GP. “On Wednesday I was already in the simulator,” he says in the Red Bull Energy Station.
When asked, he looks back on his frustrations during the race weekend in England. “The moment you get out of the car, you’re naturally done with it for a while. Because you go out due to a problem, for the second time. But I also know that the team is doing everything to solve things. They obviously don’t like this happening either.”
However, the disappointment was entirely understandable. “When it happens, it’s just a bit of a bummer,” Verstappen himself said. “But in the end, the work just goes on.”

It was the second time – it happened earlier in Montreal – that Red Bull did not listen to Verstappen’s wishes. Apparently, not everyone was on the same page. “But it’s not like I come back to the factory and say: ‘You’re not listening’. That’s not how those conversations go.”

However, there has been extensive analysis of what went wrong now. Verstappen: “The team has investigated many things. From certain matters, you can draw conclusions, other things are a bit harder to understand. But we have talked about everything.”
Going back to the old rear wing was, for example, a decision that was obvious for both Verstappen and the team. “I think it was clear to everyone that it’s the smartest choice for this weekend. They have to figure out how we find the solution to the problems and then hopefully the other rear wing will be back on quickly.”
The old wing will not necessarily make the RB22 faster, but the four-time world champion has hardly any worries about that. “Maybe we are a bit slower, but the world won’t turn upside down because of it.”
