The reaction follows earlier comments from McLaren team boss Andrea Stella about Lambiase’s transfer from Red Bull to the Woking-based competitor. While the team boss talks about talent, Jos Verstappen states under the post that there is a financial reason why Lambiase is swapping Max Verstappen’s team for McLaren.

McLaren will welcome Lambiase in 2028. He will then become Chief Racing Officer at the British racing stable. In that role, he will work closely with Stella. The McLaren team boss sees Lambiase as an important reinforcement, according to him. He believes it underlines how credible McLaren has become, which is particularly ‘reflected in the results achieved thanks to the team’s hard work’. Stella: “Gianpiero’s arrival is the classic cherry on top of the cake that now contains all the right ingredients.”
