Isack Hadjar has regained his podium place for the Monaco GP after 89 days. The French-Algerian driver was allowed to join the podium ceremony in the principality, but later had to hand over his trophy to Pierre Gasly. The time penalties of the Alpine driver were overturned, allowing him to inherit third place. These have now been reinstated. As a result, Hadjar has his first Red Bull podium back: “That it is now officially in the books makes it even better.”

On Friday in Monza, it was announced that the result of the Monaco GP was once again overturned. The International Court of Appeal had decided to reinstate Pierre Gasly’s time penalties. The Frenchman thus dropped back to seventh place for the race in the principality. Isack Hadjar – who was still on the podium in Monaco before the whole saga began – thus got his third podium place back.
“It’s great to have the podium back,” the Red Bull driver responded happily via the team’s statement. “I have always said that no one can take away the feeling of standing on the Monaco podium, whatever the result. To have it officially in the books is even better. Many thanks to Laurent and the team for the hard fight off the track to get this result back: my first podium in Red Bull colors.”

‘Right outcome for the integrity of the sport’
Of course, Red Bull itself is also very pleased with the ruling of the International Court of Appeal. “We are very satisfied with the decision of the International Court of Appeal. We want to thank the FIA for showing the strength of its governance structure,” the team states. “Throughout the entire process, we were convinced that the facts and regulations supported our position, and we are glad that the ICA has now confirmed that view.”
For Red Bull, however, it was not just about Hadjar’s podium place. “It is primarily the right outcome for the integrity of the sport and the principles of sporting fairness,” the team further explains. “Motorsport is at its best when decisions are made on the track. That is also what fans, teams, and drivers all want to see. Everyone at Red Bull is very happy that Isack’s excellent performance in Monaco has now been restored, making his first podium with the team a fact.”
