Audi has released footage of a private test by Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg with the brand new Audi Nuvolari. This futuristic supercar was unveiled during the Monaco GP, but both drivers had the chance to really push the car at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy. Both Bortoleto and Hülkenberg were involved in the development of the Nuvolari, the first hybrid sports car from the prestigious German brand.

With a hybrid powertrain of 1,001 hp, a limited edition of 499 units, and a top speed of over 350 km/h, the Nuvolari marks an important milestone for Audi. The car manufacturer has never before developed a hybrid supercar of this caliber. Under the hood lies a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 coupled to three electric motors. Bortoleto and Hülkenberg were very impressed with the performance.

Complete package

“What immediately stands out is how well and predictably the car steers,” the Brazilian said. “There is basically no understeer, which is impressive given the figures. The balance remains neutral and precise, allowing you to carry speed into the corner with a lot of confidence.” Moreover, the different systems complement each other seamlessly, Bortoleto explained. “You can clearly feel how the aerodynamics and the powertrain form a single unit. Altogether, it is a very complete package and the car responds exactly as you expect as a driver.”

“The Audi Nuvolari really looks cool and unique,” Hülkenberg added. “For me, it’s about the complete package – how the car feels, how precisely it responds, and how well performance and driving characteristics align. The Nuvolari really has a lot to offer. It’s exciting to see how much potential this car has, and the power of the strong hybrid powertrain – with over 1,000 hp – is truly impressive.”
