Lewis Hamilton’s revival this season has also not gone unnoticed outside the paddock. The seven-time world champion ended his podium drought during the recent Chinese GP and took his first win in Ferrari red during the race in Barcelona. For former F1 driver Gerhard Berger, it is a pleasure to see.
“In general, we are all so happy when we see a winning Ferrari,” the Austrian told the official F1 website. “It is and remains Ferrari, of course. But I was also very happy for Lewis, because it has been very difficult for Lewis. He came to Ferrari and wanted to repeat his past successes. Suddenly he found himself in a difficult situation, both technically and with his very fast teammate. Last year was very tough for Lewis, but now it seems he is leaving all that behind.”

‘Hope Lewis puts pressure on Mercedes’
Emerson Fittipaldi – also a former driver and two-time world champion – hopes that Hamilton’s revival will also lead to an exciting title fight. The seven-time world champion is currently second in the championship, fifty points behind leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
“I really hope Lewis will fight for the championship,” said Fittipaldi. “It would be great to see Lewis and Ferrari perform stronger and put pressure on Mercedes. I hope so. I also have a lot of respect for Fred Vasseur. He is a good guy, a top man. I think he knows the Italians well now! So the second part could turn out well.”
