Just like in the Formula 3 race earlier that day, all Formula 2 drivers also got through the first corners unscathed. In the third lap, Kush Maini caused the first safety car of the session. After contact with Cian Shields, the Indian racing driver crashed into the barriers. Trident decided to call in the Dutchman Laurens van Hoepen under the safety car. The restart then went smoothly again.
The Formula 2 race produced more battles and overtaking moves than the F3 decider, including a fight between Nikola Tsolov, Mari Boya, and Oliver Goethe in lap eighteen. However, Tsolov went off track, forcing him to give back the positions he had gained. At that moment, Rafael Câmara also slipped past. Twelfth place for Van Hoepen
Due to multiple safety cars, the race could not be finished, but that was no problem for Dino Beganovic. The Ferrari junior took the win, despite the fierce battle behind him for a points position. Van Hoepen managed to make an overtaking move on Tsolov at the last moment and took twelfth place.
