The Italian GP ended in a big disappointment for Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari driver lost control of his car in the Parabolica corner and slid hard through the gravel trap into the wall. Leclerc himself said during an interview with F1TV that he had a very strange feeling at the moment of the crash.

The start of the race also did not go smoothly for Ferrari and Leclerc. The Monegasque got caught up in the tight chicane and pushed teammate Lewis Hamilton off the track. The Brit ended up with his tires in the gravel and complained over the radio that Leclerc had pushed him off.
“You never like to see this with teammates and it was way too tight in the first corner,” Leclerc admitted. “I didn’t even know if we had really made contact. I was already quite far on the inside and I tried to make the corner, but I didn’t do it tight enough and then I saw in the mirrors what had happened; of course, you never want to see that.”

Later Leclerc fought with Oscar Piastri and in the last corner it went completely wrong for the Monegasque. “I went on the throttle and in the first lap it already felt very strange in that corner. I had to lift off and then get back on the throttle. During the second lap I had to do this again, but even then it felt a bit strange, so we still need to look back at exactly what happened.”
For Ferrari, the race at Monza was one to quickly forget. Hamilton finished sixth after a long battle with Piastri. The Brit finished the race just over 24 seconds behind winner Kimi Antonelli. The Italian is doing well in the championship and is pulling away again from the rest.
