FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem is pleased with the 2027 calendar. According to the Emirati, the 24 scheduled Grands Prix and ten sprint races for next season clearly show how motorsport attracts fans worldwide. Ben Sulayem also foresees that 2027 will be an ‘exceptional year’ in Formula 1.

Earlier on Wednesday, Formula 1 announced the official calendar for 2027. The biggest surprise was that the Monaco GP will be one of the ten sprint weekends of the new season. Like the Grands Prix of Bahrain, Australia, Japan, and Abu Dhabi, the city-state will organize a sprint race for the first time. Additionally, in 2027 – just like in 2026 – 24 Grands Prix will be held.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem is delighted with the calendar. “The 2027 calendar clearly reflects the global appeal and ongoing growth of our sport,” said Ben Sulayem. “With twenty-four Grands Prix spread across five continents, the return of Portugal and Turkey, and the possibility of an expanded sprint program, the calendar combines tradition, innovation, and fan engagement, while maintaining the highest sporting standards.”

‘Exceptional season’
The Emirati is fully confident that 2027 will be a ‘great’ year for the pinnacle of motorsport. “I want to thank Formula 1 Management, the organizers, the national sporting authorities, the FIA officials and volunteers, and all our stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment,” continues the FIA chief. “Together we will continue to strengthen the Formula 1 World Championship and ensure an exceptional season for participants and fans around the world.”
