Max Verstappen defeated 100 karters on Thursday evening during his 1 versus 100 challenge. The Dutchman raced at the Silverstone kart track against, among others, streamers, influencers, and people with a Red Bull connection.

The race was full of crashes and remarkable moments. Verstappen had a true rocket start and gained about forty places in the first lap. After a brief yellow flag across the entire track, he could continue towards the top from position 37.
After 5 laps Verstappen was in 16th place. The top 3 was by then thinking about how to stop Verstappen. This consisted of compatriot Jacky Martens from De Limburger, Zac Alsop (TV personality), and Lewis Osler (engine technician at Red Bull).

After 36 minutes Verstappen was past the top three and had won the challenge. “That was simply lovely,” said the four-time world champion. “I really thought the first lap would be a disaster. I got some help from people who got too enthusiastic and then crashed. That helped a bit, but it was really a lot of fun.”
