The Grand Prix week at the Madring has just begun, but another race challenge is already waiting for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman will race a kart race against a hundred opponents at Silverstone shortly after the Spanish GP. For one of his kart opponents, the four-time world champion already has a warning: “He better get out of the way, otherwise I’ll ram him into the wall,” he jokes.

Max Verstappen faces another race challenge soon after the Spanish Grand Prix. The Dutchman will race a kart race at Silverstone against a hundred opponents the day after the race at the Madring. Verstappen starts at the back in the new Red Bull challenge and has thirty laps to cross the finish line first.
Formula 1 colleagues Carlos Sainz and Gabriel Bortoleto see the Dutchman winning this challenge. “I raced a kart race with my team earlier this week,” Sainz begins. “We used a reverse grid. I started in twentieth place and was leading after five laps. If I do the math: twenty times five, then Max will surely be in first place after about twenty laps. Or at least, it depends on how many overtaking opportunities there are. But I’m sure he will win easily.”

Bortoleto agrees with that. “Of course, it depends a bit on the level of his opponents,” says the Audi driver. “But I think there is a good chance he will win. And if I’m at home and have nothing to do, I’ll watch it, because it sounds pretty fun to watch.”
‘He better get out of the way’
Verstappen himself was also already asked about the upcoming kart race. A journalist told the Dutchman that a friend of his will be one of his hundred opponents. “He better get out of the way, otherwise I’ll ram him into the wall,” Verstappen joked to Sky Sports. “I think the opponents are just grouped based on their speed. Well, I hope for him that he’s all the way at the back. Out immediately…”, he concluded with a wink.
