Oscar Piastri denies that there are tensions between him and Lando Norris after their battle during the Italian Grand Prix. The McLaren drivers clashed several times during the race, with Norris complaining that he was pushed off the track by his teammate.

The situation led to Piastri being asked from the McLaren pit wall to be a bit more cautious in the duels with Norris. According to the Australian, however, the incident has had no impact on their relationship.
“Our bond was and is good,” Piastri told Australian media. “Of course, we encountered each other at certain moments during the race, but it was a fine battle.”

Piastri emphasizes that everything is also good between the two McLaren drivers off the track. “Lando and I went to the airport together and played padel together this week.”
That the duels between the two sometimes cause tension on the asphalt is not surprising to Piastri. “If you drive close to each other, there will always be tense moments. And maybe it is more exciting for the people at the pit wall or at home than for us in the car.”
